Today’s devotional: Blessing through faith

Monday 28th of January, 2020

Text: Genesis 15: 5-6: He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be  Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness

In our devotional today, God is bringing to picture the story of Abraham to open our eyes to God’s way of blessing through faith.

Abram was already very old, and Sarah, his wife, not only aged but also was sterile. God called them, and by faith, they left their relatives to go to an unknown land that the Lord had promised them. Everything seemed very unlikely, but they believed in the word of the Lord. God, being rich in mercy, had much bigger plans for that family. To this day, all Christians on earth are blessed through a descendant of Abraham: Jesus Christ!

God invited Abram to look at the sky. It is impossible to count all the stars. It is also impossible for God to stop fulfilling His promises and His purposes. He is above all the stars and knows them all. Moreover, He knows your heart and your dreams. Remember that, above all, the Lord has control of everything Abraham to activate your blessing through faith in Him

Believe and live by faith, like Abram:

  • Believe in the Lord with all your heart. That was what distinguished Abraham and God’s people throughout history.
  • Look to the sky. Do not put your eyes on the difficulties of this world. The help comes from the Lord (Psalm 121:2).
  • Trust in the word of God even if the circumstances say otherwise. Find in him the help that will motivate you.
  • Faith leads us to love and obedience. Express your love and your submission to God, seeking his guidance in the Holy Bible.
  • Pray and commit your dreams in the hands of God.

Anchor word for Today: As you grow in faith in Him, so your blessings through Him

Prayer:

Eternal God, You are the same yesterday, today, and You will be forever. You are above all the universe, and you have a good plan and a purpose superior to my current understanding. I give you all my dreams and plans. Help me to go through the difficulties I am facing with faith and confidence. Today, I receive the grace to activate my blessings through faith. Thank you for Jesus Christ, through whom I am more than a conqueror. Amen.
