Do you ever fear whether your sins can be forgiven? I believe the story of the woman in our devotion today will encourage your heart. The shame this woman felt was heightened by the contempt of the locals. Neither the repulsion for their behavior nor the regrets could initiate a change in it. She felt a slave to her sin.

Jesus woke up hope in her. This woman heard when Jesus spoke to a large crowd and understood that he was different from others. Yes, she entered; but unable to say anything, she fell to his knees to worship him and cried. She spilled perfume on his feet, covered them with kisses, and wiped them with her hair. The presence of Jesus transformed her. Formerly excluded by others, now received by God. Shame no longer overwhelmed her. And now she could go forgiven, in peace, free. This is also possible for us. Whoever recognizes their sins, repents, and confesses them to Jesus, obtains absolute forgiveness.

Your sins are not beyond His mercy.
