Come back to first love!
Text: Revelation 2: 4-5: Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place
Have you forsaken your first love for Christ? Where is that burning passion for God’s glory again in your heart? This morning, the Lord is admonishing us through His word to Come back to our first love!.
At the beginning of a courtship, the beginning of a new work or study project, people are always very intense, full of dedication, willingness, and commitment.
As with the other relationships or with the activities we started, the first moments with God also seem to be much more passionate. Unfortunately, as time goes by, many abandon their first love.

Today’s verse serves as an alert so that we do not allow that to happen and perhaps it has happened return to the practices of the total commitment that we demonstrated to Jesus at the beginning of our relationship with Him.
If you used to spend more time loving (and serving) God and your neighbor, in prayer, doing a devotional, reading and studying the Bible, if you felt pleasure in participating in meetings, evangelism, discipleship, going to church, etc. Today is the time to return to your first love!
Love again as at the beginning:
Remember where you have fallen from – do a personal analysis, reflect on your life, and remember how you abandoned your first love.
Repent – pray and ask for forgiveness recognizing the error of having abandoned and having stopped investing in your relationship with God.
Practice the works you practiced at the beginning – Return to the practice of your foundational relationship, dedication, and total dedication to God.

Dear Father, I acknowledge that I have abandoned my first love for you. Forgive me for allowing our communion to go to the background and turned away from you.
Today I want to love You again above all and everyone and also love my neighbor, serving more and better every day. Help me not to get discouraged and stay connected to You as it was in the beginning. In the name of Jesus, amen.
