Live in peace with everyone
Text: Romans 12: 17-18: Do not pay anyone evil for evil. Try to do good in front of everyone. If possible, and as long as it depends on you, live in peace with everyone.
Have you ever been treated badly without doing anything to deserve it? It is a complicated situation, but we are tested daily for stressful and unpleasant situations that test our patience and our endurance. This can happen at work, at school, at home, in the neighborhood and even in the church. They offend us when we least expect it without having done anything.
What does God advise us in relation to this? What is the right way to deal when they cause us harm? We find several biblical passages that answer these questions. You can look, for example, at the following:
- Romans 12:21 – Do not be overcome by evil; on the contrary, overcome evil with good.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:15 -Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. ”
- Matthew 5: 38-39 – You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’[a] But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.
- Matthew 5:44 – But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you …
Stay alert so you don’t react badly to the attacks that come to you. Remember that our fight is not against people. We have a common enemy that tries to harm us at all times. Sorry, look the other way and stay at peace with everyone!

Lord God, help me not to return the evil that others do to me. Father, teach me to have a compassionate and forgiving heart like yours. Forgive me when I react badly to those who attack me and offend without reason. Help me to obey your Word by loving and even praying for those who persecute me. Give me serenity and wisdom to live in peace with everyone around me. In the name of Jesus, amen.
