Rejoice when you are persecuted!

Christian, rejoice when you are persecuted!

Text: Matthew 5:12: Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way, they persecuted the prophets who were before you

When Jesus said those words, he was preaching the familiar “Sermon on the Mount.” With these teachings, he presented a summary of the practical principles and values of the kingdom of God. The “beatitudes” mark the beginning of that great discourse in which the inverted patterns of life “more than happy” that Christians can experience are presented.

When we live faith in Christ truly and intentionally, the world will oppose and try to insult and mistreat us. The Lord teaches us to be filled with joy and contentment when we are persecuted for their cause. The work of Christ is very precious! It is worth going through disappointments and affronted by faith. The reward God will bring will be much greater!

Rejoice in the chase:

  • Pray daily to God. Ask for guidance and wisdom to know how to deal with persecutions.
  • Do not be discouraged in your walk with God because of the difficulties you face. The Lord is at your side at every moment and sustains you.
  • Strengthen your faith every day with the Word of God.
  • Rejoice, praise, and thank you for the privilege of being persecuted because of Jesus Christ.
  • Intercede for the persecuted Church throughout the world. Thousands of Christians regularly suffer attacks on their lives and other damages due to faith.
  • Remain faithful to the Lord! Remember the example of the suffering of the disciples, the apostles and the Lord Jesus Christ himself, who even being persecuted, in prison, under threats of affliction and death were faithful to the end.
  • Be careful that you are not persecuted for bad testimony or for acting without wisdom!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, Teach me to be happy in afflictions and bring to my mind what gives me hope. Bless all the brethren who suffer persecution throughout the world particularly for Gospel sake. I ask this with thanksgiving and faith in the name of Jesus. Amen.
