Trust in the Lord even amid bad news
Text: Psalm 112:7-8: They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end, they will look in triumph on their foes
Our current reality is that we have constant access to information through TV, the internet, and radio. Every day we see bad news about robberies, catastrophes, kidnapping, Boko haram attack and rumors that cause us uncertainty. Unfortunately, thanks to all that information, we know that this is what the world can offer us.
Living under the command of those voices can further separate us from God and cause us to fix our eyes on the earth. To trust in the Lord even amid the bad news, there is only one “news channel” capable of encouraging and motivating us in victory: the Word of God!
