Your sins can be forgiven

Text: Acts 3:19: Repent ye, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord

I have come across at different times people who had so much got engrossed in the world and have done different sorts of things, and now they hear the word of God and feel bad for their previous life. But there is this question that keeps pumping in their hearts: Can my sins be forgiven?

I don’t know who you are and what you have done, but I have good news for you- there is already provision made for the forgiveness of your sins through Christ Jesus, our Lord.

The only thing you need to do as seen in our devotional text today is to repent, and forsake those sins, and promise God never to return into them any longer. When this happens, not only will your sins be forgiven, but you are also guaranteed times of refreshment from the Lord.

How to receive forgiveness of sins?

  1. There must be genuine repentance. Any sin you don’t repent from, you can’t be forgiven for.
  2. Agree with God over what He considers as sins. Most often, what we believe to be right is nothing before Him but abominable. So whenever He brings to our heart conviction of any wrongdoing in our lives, we must not argue with Him or begin to justify ourselves.
  3. Confess every known and unknown sins. Sins must be confessed before we can be entitled to forgiveness.

Prayer:

Father thank You because You are great in mercy and compassion. I repent from my sins and promise never to make You sad again. Please Lord, forgive me, and the time of Your refreshment come into my life, amen
